Question on FX3 and Western River sounds

I downloaded a couple of sounds off the WR site but they don't play on my FX3. What am I doing wrong. I named them 028 Crow Owl fight FXP and so on This seemed to take the place of the snow geese sounds but dosen't play the Crow Owl sound. Is it in the wrong format? If it needs to be converted how do I do that?

No dice Crapshoot. I removed the FXP and when that didn't work I added MP3 for good measure and that didn't make any difference either. Any other ideas?

Shouldn't need any MP3 or FXP at the end. You are only changing the name, not the format. Im not exactly sure what the problem is, but im still thinking about it.
 
Plug in your unit to your computer and type exactly what it shows for the sound that wont play.

Did you remove the snow geese sound or atleast rename it something above 031?

Crapshoot,

OK I got it. I had to put a . between the name and the MP3 and that turned the icon at the left into a MP3 icon. then it worked. This is all new to me, I have never worked with MP3 players or downloaded music or any thing. the file name looks like this: 028 Crow Owl fight.MP3 with a icon at the left that must be for a MP3 file.

Not at all, You got me thinking in the right direction. This thing is pretty cool. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif I've been re-arranging the sounds and labeling a new sound card list. I got a crow hunt planned for this weekend but might not be able to wait until then. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Doug,

It was pretty good. I downloaded 4 sounds so far and some are better than others but I think the original FX sounds are possibly a little better than all the MP3's and a lot better than one of them. I had a EW sound that was good and two Western Rivers that were really, pretty good but one of the WR sounds is a little dissapointing. I may try to redownload it and see if it gets better the next time. I was actually pretty impressed with what WR and EW offered for free, I think you could pick through there and get some pretty good stuff. I still want to get the JS gray fox pup dist. I will have to buy the CD from somewhere.
