Question on How to change handguards

Guys, I have a 6.5 Grendel upper that I bought a while ago and am wanting to change the handguard. It currently has a YHM Diamond Free Float handguard. I am wanting a lightweight handguard without the rails. My two questions are: What handguard would you recommend, and how hard is it to change them? Do I need a bunch of tools, or can I do it pretty easy.

You will need a armorers tool, for the barrel nut, a punch
to knock out the pin for the gas tube, at the gas block(if you
change gas blocks), and what ever tools you need to remove the
gas block, and muzzle break/flash hider, if the barrel has one.
I like a torque wrench for re-installing the new barrel nut, but
some contend that just snugging it up to align the gas tube port
on the barrel nut, and the upper receiver is sufficient. Me I
prefer to measure the torque used to align the gas tube ports.

There should be some videos or instructions on the internet.
I would start at AR15.com.

The tools you need will depend on the handguard you choose to get.

Changing out the free float tube can get cumbersome. If you replace the barrel nut be sure to by an action block so you don't detroy your upper in the vise. I am also going to advise you to be sure to torque everything to the proper settings.

I am slowly buying parts for a new upper. I went with the Troy TRX Extreme rail. It is pretty light.

I have been very satisfied with the JP Enterprises series. If you decide you need to add some stuff to the handguard you can, if you want it slick, can do that to.
