Gents,
For those who have the progam, what are your overall opinions on it?

Do you find the info provided worthwhile & accurate?

Would you consider it an asset to the everyday reloader or more geared for those seeking to go the "extra mile" in their quest for the ultimate handload?

thanks!

I purchased it last month and have to say I have been loading for 16yrs and cant believe how much I have learned from it- very nice to have. It does not take the place of testing but it does keep you from waiting lot of extra time and money.

I have used an older version of "Quick Load" to develop loads for a 500 NE 3 1/4" that I was having built. It is a great tool for anilyzing internal ballistics of a fire arm especially if there is very little loading data published for a cartridge. Also when used with a coronograph in your load development the velocity pressure relationship compared to the choronograph data gives you a very good indication of the pressures you are getting in your gun. I am using the latest version of "Quick Load" and reference it all the time.

I think calling it a "simulator" as by the 6br website is WAY too much of a compliment. The underlying code provides for little more than empirical anecdotal estimation. Your money is better spent on more loading manuals, just my limited opinion.

I have been using it for quite a while. First thing that I did was to punch in some of my old loads from my log and see how close it was. In almost every case, it showed pressure warnings right where I had observed them during my load development.

It is very dependent on how good the data is that you feed it. Case volumes, etc... You can even take your measured velocities and 'tweak' the program to match.

I would say that it is a very good tool for the reloader. Not a do all, end all, manual replacer, but a very good tool to have.
