Hi everyone!
I'm just curious if anyone else (besides me, hee hee) has been watching the TV show on the Travel Channel called "The Wild Within"?

I'm enjoying the episodes I've remembered to watch.
And I from what I've seen, it has been portraying hunters in a favorable way, & kind of explaining to any non-hunters watching, the reasons why most of us hunt wild game.

What say you????

i just saw it for the first time the other day and i thought it looked like a good show. It was the one where he packed up and went home after the season and was explaining about telling people why he hunts and how he changed his wifes mind when the met about hunting etc. looks like a good show

The episode that I saw earlier in the week, has the host & his brother hunting whitetails in the mountains. I didn't catch the beginning, so I'm not sure where they were.
I thought it was intersting that they rough butchered their bucks where they died, & then packed the misc. meat parts & antlers back down the mountain to the base camp.
After they got to camp, they cleaned & packaged the meat, to help with spoilage. They said they would do the final butchering once they got back home.
Wherever it was, they had to fly out of camp at the end of the show in a little "bush" plane.

The episode that was on last night, had the host going to I believe it was Hawaii to hunt & fish. ect. there.
Again, I missed the first few minutes, so I'm only going by the terrain & "looks" of the guides & other locals.
The first thing I saw the host doing was going to a shoreline to try to find small octopus.

I've enjoyed the 2 episodes I've seen. They seem like normal guys that I would have for hunting buddies.
Can't say the same for Wild Justice on NatGeo. What a bunch of chumps imo. The Ca wardens portray everyone as bad guys. They are disrespectful and unprofessional. I watch the show only because I'm waiting for someone to slap the [beeep] out of the pricks. Last show they show up in force,5 or 6 wardens, because some elderly guy had supposedly shot a turkey vulture at some time. Now I don't like poachers, but I couldn't believe how they treated that guy. Asked if he owned any guns, wanted to go in his house and search for guns and I'll be dam if he didn't let them. They would not like the response if they came at me the way they did him, they'd probably be calling for backup.
I've been stopped several times in my life by both state and federal wardens, and for the most part was treated with respect. I would not tolerate the attitudes portrayed by the aholes on this show. Take me to jail if you must, but you will not treat me with disrespect. IMO, this is an anti hunter show.

Yup, Ive watched wardens on the outdoor channel? i think, the ones i saw were here in MT. interesting. i watched the Hawaii pig one, they hunt with dogs and kill them with a knife in a traditional style Hawaii hunt. very cool to see that part of the culture, raw and uncensored. good show so far.
