R15 at Academy Sports?

I think I've got all my choices narrowed down to a few.....with a R15 being at the top of my list.

With that being said - does anyone know anything about this rifle?

R 15

I didn't find a black gun on Remingtons site at all - they are all camo.

Is this the only difference? Looks like a lot of difference in price for a little camo to me. What do you think?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give

Jim

i have owned one since they first introduced them a few years back.. love mine. roughly 6lbs, camo'd and balanced nicely.. i prefer the 18in version without the cs. my first one had a bill springfield trigger job in it and my second one has a timney trigger. very accurate with reloads or factories. cant go wrong!!! when they first come out they were selling at my local shops for 899$ right before the blazing idiot took office the first time around. i havent priced them lately but im sure there closer to the 1200$ range lol. for hunting purposes i love mine! its the first and only gun i pick up when im predator hunting anymore.

Thanks for the input!

It looks like my link isn't working

The one that I listed is $899. I believe it's an 18" model that is all black. Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

Lots of people gripe about the factory trigger in the R-15. This rifle is listed as having a single stage hunting trigger. Does anyone know if that's the same trigger that nobody likes?

That would be the one.

I just got one yesterday to replace my 13 pounder. And oh my is it light. Fell in love the moment i picked it up, hopefully it shoots as good as it looks.

The R15 is my first and only AR, love it. Makes me wanna build one now.

I too replaced the trigger, used a Chip McCormick drop-in, because it was easy ok. Too tight to put in a Giessle(spelling?).

Snag it at that price ASAP. I had the same one & it was a great carry gun & accurate, even more so when I put a timney 3lb trigger in it.
