Rancho Safari

Just got this awesome ghillie suit in from Rancho Safari. Jerry Gentellalli the owner of Rancho Safari went out of his way to get this suit completed for me before the holidays. Jerry while a little hard to get ahold of really knows his stuff and his customer service is superb. This is my 5th ghillie suit and I got to say it is the best one I've had by far. This suit is made of 100% cotton Jeriflage in a desert pattern. It is an ultralite long coat that zips up the front with an attached hood and separate face mask. While it looks like it is heavy and bulky you can hardly tell you're wearing it weight wise. Since it is also well ventilated you don't feel hot in it all all. It also comes with it's own carrying system. You can roll it up and use the attached straps and buckles to make a nice little bundle then use the shoulder strap to carry it to and from the stand.

Here is a pic of me in the suit standing out on the patio. Even though it might not look like it I can see very well out of it.

Here I am hunched up in the corner and again my vision is not obstructed at all.

Here is a pic of the facemask that comes with the suit. It is very well made and very effective in concealing your face while giving you a clear view of your surroundings.

If I have to use one of those I will give it up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But it looks [beeep] good on you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif.

Looks good Sly, and it'll get even better after you've drug it through a bunch of catclaw and got it hung up in a fence or 20.

Not the first time I've heard that. Then at the end of the day followed by "where did you say you got that?". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

So tell us Sean, is it against the rules to provide a "non-sponsor" link?

Yes and no. TOS

Quote:
Predator Masters Inc. maintains a base of sponsors on the site. Members who do not have written consent from the staff are not allowed to post hyperlinks, or non-hyperlinked business addresses, phone numbers or contact information on the bulletin board. The posting of hyperlinks for the express purpose of providing information to other members is allowed.

Generally, if the person who starts the thread does it, we don't. Why? Well, if a spammer comes here and makes a post about the most Gee Whiz thing posting links and all it goes.

If someone makes a post, "hey, anyone now where I can get a good camo suit?" and a guy posts a link to a non-sponsor link, it's ok as this is for "information".

You may think that is dumb, but this way, I don't have to try and decide or figure out if the original poster is a spammer, or has something to gain by posting the links.

If someone asks, he may have something to gain, but at least he has wait until someone asks.

If we thought that the person who asked was in cahoots with someone else to get the links posted of course we wouldn't allow it. I can't remember that happening though.

Not sure if I explained that clearly, but hopefully I did.

I had a friend of mine who sell the rancho ghillies trying to talk me into useing one for a couple of years , I never saw a need for it and fought the idea for a long time , Then one day i decided to try it out . After i had a coyote standing less then 5 yards from me looking right at me as i slooooowly moved my gun i was sold plain and simple , I know for a fact that the use of the rancho safari ghillie has added alot of fur to my sets over the years , I wouldnt set a stand without one .

That suit looks good Sly, and thanks for posting the pictures.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Wearing that thing reminds me of "Cousin It", from the Adams Family. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sorry ... didn't mean to violate the TOS. Just trying to be helpful for some members who might be interested in a good ghillie suit. Also forgot to give credit to Jimanaz for helping me select the right kind of suit for the Arizona desert.

Thanks Jim!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

Hey, I didn't do anything special, but you're welcome.

Thanks for clearing that up Sean. I'm pretty sure I've done the same thing before, as have others, but maybe everybody who sees this will be a little more careful in the future. And I for one, see the point.

Roger I don't know if I'm looking forward to testing in 100 degrees but the beauty of the suit is that you can roll it up and carry it to the stand using the sholder strap. Maybe wearing it for 10 minutes on the stand might be enough to cook my goose but I'll get back to you on that next June and let you know if I'm a few pounds lighter or not. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
