Range Finder ?

Dang, going for the gusto I see! Nice choice, too rich for my blood but a very good quality unit for sure.
If the money isn't an issue you are doing good to stick with a high end range finder. Some of the $200 specials work alright for bow hunting or ranging fairly close objects but are terrible at ranging any real distance on non reflective targets.

Swarovski is fantastic...but then again it ought to be for what they co$t. I seriously doubt they are what everyone is using based on price alone. There is not an optic made that is out of my reach but for a rangefinder I use a Nikon Monarch 1200. Probably the main thing that separates them is that the hi end RF's will range to what they say they will whereas the more cost effective brands will not. I can only get about 800-850 or so yards out of my "1200 and that's on a good day." Generally the better ones I have used will range to what they are supposed to. If I had it to do all over again I think I would look very hard at the Leica. For the money you cant go wrong. The cheaper ones work and are pretty [beeep] accurate too but drop one and it's all over.

I just purchased a Lecia 800 and so far it has been outstanding! The glass is so clear that I find myself useing it instead of the binos..The bright red numbers are a big plus also.

What would be a good recomendation for a range finder that will accuratly measure 400yd for fox hunting. I am range finder ignorant.

Thanks Brett
