Rating the FoxPro FX3

This post is intended to not only give my honest appraisal of the FoxPro FX3, but to help answer a multitude of questions I have read from various members about ecallers, customer service, and sounds in general. First, let me say I have had 13 years of hunting coyotes, and only coyotes for the past 8 years. I have used a variety of ecallers and hand calls to call in and whack a very large number of coyotes, no bragging intended, just pertinent facts. I have had cheaper callers and I have had more expensive callers, all of which served me satisfactorily for the most part, as I have always used the hand calls a lot in conjunction with the ecallers. In my opinion, the FoxPro FX3 is the overall best that I have ever owned, and the customer service at both the parent company, FoxPro itself, and the site I bought mine, AllPredatorCalls.com, AP Jones in particular, are unparalleled in the industry. I won't mention any names in a negative manner as I don't think it would be proper in a forum of this nature, but I will be glad to help any of you newer coyote hunters if contacted. I will go so far as to say that the most expensive of all the callers, that I know of, is at the lower end of the customer service ratings, and proprietary as hell to boot. Enough of that. If you purchase the FoxPro, and give yourself a few days to completely familiarize yourself with its operation, I cannot believe you will have any problems with it. I have tested it in a variety of calling situations, from distances of 50 yds. to 200 yds., and never had it perform any way but perfectly. As to the sounds, the proprietary sounds loaded for you by either the factory or AllPredatorCalls.com are all useful and good, but you will soon learn to switch out some of the sounds to sequences you learn to make yourself via the computer and sound editing software, like Goldwave, or that you purchase on CD, download to file on your computer, and then transfer to your FoxPro. In the last two weeks, using a combination of sounds loaded by AP Jones and some I made myself, I have made approximately 20 stands, calling in 14 coyotes total, and sending 9 of them to the happy hunting ground. Other technical questions about how to equip your FoxPro cam be readily answered by the sellers or by yours truly if you send me a PM.
Good hunting,

Possum Al

Thats great to hear seeing as I just bought the FX3 with all the bells and whistles from AP as well and I'm looking forward to it getting here tomarrow (I hope). I must agree that AP was a great help and very knowledgeable of the products he sells and it's very comforting to know that he's a caller as well and not someone who acts like he knows what he's talking about and has never even hunted before.

Anyways hope you dont mind but I may pick your brain some once I get mine. Its always good to hear such positive feed back especially when you make such a big investment.
Happy Hunting!!

Nice review Al. I concur with your comments and will also add (especially for the new guys) that you've been extremely helpful to me. While I can't boast of successes like you, you're tactics and willingness to share them have added to my bag of trips. And the stuff you shared about mixings sounds will give me plenty to do in the off season.

Thanks and good hunting.

Hey Perri: Thanks for the kind words. This FX3 continues to amaze me how good it sounds and how good it operates. I have now made 4 stands using a sound sequence I made, and called in a total of 5 coyotes, 3 of which are no longer killing calves, fawns, turkeys, and anything else they can get their fangs into. Take a look in the photo gallery forum at my 23 year old grandson's 46 lb. male he whacked tonight, getting the old monkey off his back for getting the big eye and missing a couple of earlier ones I called in for him. Nothing like hunting with my grandsons to make this old coyote hunter happy.

Al,

I am really glad to hear that you like the FX3. With all of the effort that we put into it, testimonials like this make it all worth the while. If you ever have any questions with the product, feel free to give us a call, and we will help out anyway we can. Thanks, Al!

Hey Mike D.: I appreciate your reply, as it is always nice to hear from anyone totally honest and dedicated to customer service. To date, I have received more prompt, efficient customer service from FoxPro and from AP Jones at AllPredatorCalls.com in one month than I got in over 6 years from the unmentionable guy who is so proprietary minded, and obviously suffers from some kind of conflict between the real truth and the web of deceit he has woven with so little skill. My late father always told me to avoid people who put down all competitors, while constantly bragging about their products. I sure wish I had listened to dear old dad; I wouldn't have wasted so much money and effort just trying to get this slick operator to give me the respect and attention any customer justly deserves. The worst of all my dealings with old B.M. was how he treated customers I sent him during the first three months or so after purchasing one of his units. Those people were dear friends to me, and I had full confidence that they would be treated fairly and get what they were paying for. I was blatantly wrong on both those assumptions, and then to find out later that we were all buying a product that was not even up to FCC standards, thereby making us partners in breaking the law, was the proverbial straw that broke the poor old camel's back.
The feedback I have received from my earlier post, Rating the FoxPro FX3, has been so overwhelming to the extent that every single person has mentioned this fellow by his name and/or company name that I probably will do so in the future if I decide it will keep one unsuspecting customer from dealing with this character, and being disappointed in such a variety of ways. I plan on having a telephone conversation today with an attorney friend of mine, who was one of the customers I referred to old B.M., who took him to court to make him comply with his stated and implied warranty and other issues, and beat him and was awarded a settlement. I want to find out the final disposition of that case before giving any details, and will need his permission to do so, due to my consideration of his right to privacy.
Keep on telling the truth; it will set you free, as dear old dad used to tell me.
