Anyone have any expierence with the Rangemaster 1500 scales and powder despenser byRCBS? Am thinking about upgradeing to digital scales and would like to hear any pros or cons for this setup.
Thanks Oldog

Love my RCBS dispenser. I know weighing every charge isn't supposed to matter but I guess I'm obscessed. And changing loads is about a five second operation when working up a load or doing ladder loads. It sure speeds up the loading.

I really have enjoyed mine it sure speeds up the process. The pros are that its more accurate and faster and will meter those large grain powders such as IMR4350 and 4064 just as well as the ball powders. The only con that I have noticed is that it will drift a little on the weight. For example if it throws a 40 grain charge as it sits there on the scale it can drift and say 40.2 then 40.1 then it will may go the other way to 39.9 even though the charge is correct at 40gr.I checked mine against my RCBS 1010 scale and it was too close to see any difference. I have always weighed every charge because I never load huge volumes of ammo at once.

It's a very good machine. My chrono says it has the least variation from load to load of any measuring system I've used.

Thanks for the replies. I ordered one today. Will let you know how it works. I load for several different calibers and this should speed things up.

I just purchased the RCBS Chargemaster about two weeks back but haven't had a chance to load any ammo with it. I did cal the scales and they worked perfect. I will post how well the unit works. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
