Hey single shot,I have never seen rabbit urine for sale, but you can use any kind of scent that you wouldn't think would spook a coyote or what ever your calling. You can also get you a dark colored sock and fill it with cotton. Fill it with about 1/4 to 1/2 a bottle of skunk scent. This will definitely help cover your scent.

I met a guy in Kansas recently who told me how to make scent killer and it has worked well for me. Mix 16 ozs. of baking soda, 8 ozs. of hydrogen peroxide and 2 ozs. of hunter specialties green soap in a gallon of water.

I was reading an old varmint digest and it suggested poking a couple of hole in the top of a can sardines and spilling a little bit of oil on your boots. I have never tried it, in fact I have never used scents. Do you think it increases your hunting ability? What do you think of the sardine trick? do yout think it would work? any advice in this area would be greatly appreciatted. thanks -J

Baumerj,
Welcome to PMF.
The sardine thing will probably work, especially if you are cat hunting, but watch your back trail(HeHe).

I personally do not think cover scent of any kind works. I believe a coyote can seperate the different odors coming from a location or different lures used at a trap set. I know dogs can. When I was much younger I owned a cur dog that was pretty good at treeing coons or anything else that could climb a tree. We were hunting a night and found a skunk along the ditch bank. My dog bayed it and in the process was sprayed. His entire muzzle and head was yellow. I could smell his every move. Anyway, we continued to hunt and about 30 minues later he got seperated from me. I kept on walking for about a quarter of a mile down the bottom. I was weaving in and out of the short brush as I walked and I was wearing rubber boots. I finally stopped to see where my dog was and looked back with my light. I could see him tracking me and he was making every turn I had made on my trip down the bottom. He had the so called cover scent of the skunk applied directly to his nose and it did not deter his ability to track a man who was wearing rubber boots and not taking his time as he walked. Seems like he could seperate the man smell from the skunk pretty good. And he also treed 3 coons within an hour of this. So I say dont waste your money on pee or anything else that is supposed to mask the human odor. I have not tried the charcoal suits, but that is not the same technique.
