Just a heads up to forum readers. I got this ad rejection e-mailed from GOOGLE (the search engine guys). Seems I have comitted the huge sin of having links on my websites to "GUN" sites.

They wrote:

the report below.

... your ad(s) will no longer be displayed

That's interesting, I just did a search on there and just plugged in "guns" and tons of pages came up! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This is about one year old now.

Google will not take anyone with a link to guns, knives or any other kind of weapons, as paying advertizers.

The search engine doesn't block these sites, they'll still come up on a search. But the quick links to the side that come up on the page are there because companies paid to have them come up there on searches, and none of those will include people with sites they deem unacceptable.

The search engine will still display gun sites. They are suspending my ad becuase my web site has a links to other sites which has content that includes guns... twisted liberal minds at work. I also checked other sites that advertise with google - they have "links to gun sites"

I think i'm being singled out because I support actively support Predator Hunting and the office that runs the "Ad words" must be run by Anti hunters to boot!

Hey AP...

I just looked in my sent items folder of my email. I knew I had written an email to them at one time for their stance on guns and related issues. I found the email and funny thing was it was sent a year ago, almost to the day!!

Thought I'd post the email, if anyone wants to copy it and send it to them to voice your opinons, feel free to do so. I doubt they will ever change their views, but they will at least hear us... By the way, I never received a response from them with my email...

Here it is....

=======================================

I was recently made aware that some businesses dealing in legal weapons, weapons parts, and knives who wish to advertise on Google are being turned down because Google is not advertising business that sell “guns, gun parts, and knives” at this time.

Aside from the fact that millions of Americans like myself use “guns, gun parts, and knives” each year both for personal recreation and personal protection, Google wants nothing to do with us?

Interesting, though, that when I do a Google search for “sex,” I am treated to advertisements for sites like “totaltramps.com” and “sexaddicted.com.” Am I to assume that when I and my son—the honor student and church youth group leader who spends most of his free time hunting, fishing, and camping with his dad (me!)--it is Google’s wish to “protect” us from such dangerous things as knives and gun parts, but don’t mind if my daughter—another (!) honor student and church youth group leader who spends most of her free time hunting, fishing, and camping with her dad (me again!)--stumbles across these flesh and fantasy filth sites?

And you people think it’s fine to make money off that, but not something that is 99% associated with wholesome individual or family recreation and responsibility? Even if the number were 70%, can the same be said of Porn—that a majority of the time it is used in wholesome family environments? Explain that to me, cause I don’t get it.

I have sent them a email and 21 of my friends the info about google. I say even if they don't change 20 or 30 thousand emails will sure as heck po them a bit. Don't seem like much but it is better then nothing.

I think our best bet is simply to ignore Google and the like. I'm sure they are not vital to any of our lives. Businesses reach a certain level of prosperity and decide that we can't live without their services. It takes a while for our message to get through to them, but eventually it does.
I live very well without Google and will continue to do so, Best wishes.

Here is Googles reply to my email concerning their stance on guns, They say that the search will not prohibit search results on guns, but they wont allow gun advertizing. Now its time to email Pay-Pal and EBAY!
