Reap ir or Ir patrol m300w

IR Defense has tested the Reap Ir on a 12gauge with good results my question to you all that have the reap and patrol what unit would suit a scatter gun better? I can't use a center fire rifle at night in my state. I use a 12 gauge paired with a pvs14 dbal11 which works fine. I was thinking the the Ir patrol or reap would give me a better image with no moon dark nights. I also have a flir Scout11 that I could scan with. I am all ears.
Thanks in advance.

Twhitey..... Here's my .02. That would work but the normal setup is to scan with thermal and shoot with NV. I realize that you are trying to find a NV device that will handle the recoil of the shotgun but you will probably miss a lot of critters by scanning with the PVS instead of thermal.

Another thing to look at is that the REAP-IR has a 35mm lens. Not the best choice with regard to FOV for the close range shotgun setup. I would go with the IRD Patrol M300W which has a reticle and a 19mm lens. Its the same exact unit other than the lens and the software so it should handle the recoil also.

Here is what I would do..... Buy the IRD Patrol M300W and take the difference in cost and buy a Pulsar HD19A for scanning.

Later on you can get a 2x or 3x clip on lens for the M300 and get the same range out of it that you would get with the REAP-IR for longer range scanning only. The add on lens will not handle any recoil.

FYI.... I have an M300W for scanning and have hunted with a REAP-IR. I currently have a 19mm Mark II and 35mm Mark III, I sold my HD19a and bought a HD50S so I have used the units I am suggesting

Gman I have a flir scout 11 as well. I hear what your saying as far as picking them up better with the thermal. Most of the time we hunt fields that are 300 yds x300yds so no neee for long distance detection. With that said I have a place in Ny as well that I can see a country mile. I could do the clip on like you suggest. I would run the optic on my 6.8ar so no recoil issue on the lens. They have not done any testing with h the 300 so I doubt they would stand behind any recoil issues. I guess I could wait for them to do there testing so I would be backed by them for any issues. I just don't want the to shrink up my fov.
Thanks for the heads up.

If you are going to use the unit on multiple weapons you may want to go with the REAP-IR and just deal with the tight FOV using the shotgun. The REAP-IR has more reticle choices and 4 reticle memory functions.
