Recoil activated video reliability on Thermals

I have a Iray Bolt TH50v2 on a 22-250 and shooting suppressed. I have only had it for a couple months and I’ve shot 5 coyotes so far with it. The video works great if I remember to hit record, if I don’t turn video on myself it will not record. I have the recoil activated video turned on in the scope. I have a buddy shooting a 6mm suppressed with a AGM Adder and he says his records everytime. Is this just an issue with Iray or is there not enough recoil from the 22-250 shooting suppressed? Thanks

I can't answer that, but would recommend getting in the habit of just hitting record. What I don't like about RAV (at least in my experience) is they don't give you an option to save enough video pre-shot. IMO, the hardest part is remembering to stop the video after the shot(s) to save the video.

I had to turn mine off, too many nuisance trip videos. Every night I would end up with one or two five minute videos of the sky because I bumped something. Kinda like foxbang.

Had a pulsar trail 1 the recoil activated record worked perfectly. Sent it in for unrelated warranty repair and they replaced it with a trail 2. The 2’s don’t have recoil activated record and I sure miss it.
