Recoil Pads

I'm looking at putting a new stock on my 300 RUM and am trying to decide between a Pachmayr or a Limbsaver.

I have had a Limbsaver before and it had "melted" on me. But I've heard they have that problem resolved.

What have you found to be the better of these two.

I have Pachmayrs that came on my McRees chassis and Bell & Carlson Medalist stock. They are very soft and soak up the recoil well. Everyone seems to rave about the new Limbsaver Airtech. I'm sure you'll be happy with either.

Love the regular limbsaver i have on my Mossberg 535, had it on about 5yrs now. Still soaks up 3.5" turkey and goose loads.
I have a pahmayr on a rifle and like it as well but prefer the limbsaver, would like to try a new air-tech.

I had an old one years ago that "melted", they replaced it and I have installed several new ones in the last few years with NO problems. I am quite sure that they have changed their recipe.

I have had both on my 300 wsm and really cant tell much of a difference. Which ever brand you like the best. Both work great for me. Keep in my the limbsavor was on a wood stock and the pachmayr was on a bell and carlson stock.

He had another shotgun with a 'sticky' Limbsaver on it. Not only did Limbsaver replace the sticky pad, but they offered to install it. Furthermore they voluntarily sent me enough new pads to replace all seven of them, after I told them about Kick-EEZ response to the problem. The people at SIMS have earned my business with their customer service and a great product. I will install a Pach, if my customer insists, but I only stock Limbsavers. By the way, I've never heard of any more of the sticky problem since 2008. Just my 2 cents worth....

First I ever heard of that with KE pads. When I first tried their pads customer service was great.I got the wrong size and they exchanged it for the right one.I only had to pay the postage to them.

True story. I failed to mention that they were all 'grind to fit' pads, not the pre-fitted type. Kick-EEz grind to fit are a bugger to grind. Too many reasons to stick with Limbsaver...
