Red dot scope

Any one have any suggestions for a red dot scope for a 44 revolver? I was looking at the Aimpoint Micro H1 but am open to other ideas. When looking at the different scopes I see a pretty big price difference and really don't know whose are worth buying. Thanks for the help.

I have a Sightron on my AR-15 and like it rather well. The most important thing about getting a red dot for a .44 revolver is to make sure you buy quality or the recoil will destroy it in short order.

Bushnell's Holosight will hold up on a 460 S&W so it will be a good one for a 44 mag. Single small dots are hard to locate in the scope so I like the models with a dot and larger circle around them.

Here's the way mine is set up. Two minute red dot in the old aimpoint 5000. It's seen several thousand rounds downrange and now is on my 3.5 inch turkey gun with no problems. Their pricy, but sure take the abuse.

Here's an article on red dots you should read, it's very informative:

Facts and Figures About Dot Sights

Consider this little gem at the bottom of the article:
"In Conclusion

I hope that any doubts or misconceptions about red dot sights have been resolved with this article. The comparative experiments were not intended to be "product reviews," but rather, to clarify phenomena that occur with these sights. Before purchasing any dot sight, I suggest that you gaze through it to see if it meets your needs. In this game of bullseye shooting, I have seen more military shooters using 1" UltraDots than any other sight, and these guys are the pros. I used to shoot the Tasco ProPoint sights and based on my experiences, have now converted all six pistols to UltraDots.

And one last thought. Before you throw out your hard-earned cash on a high-dollar dot sight, consider the fact that if that brand was better than the UltraDot, ALL of the high master shooters would already have them on their pistols. But they don't."

My Aimpoint ML2 handles 3.5" mag loads just fine...

much better than a turkey does!

You shouldn't have a problem with on one a hand cannon. Good advice to get a parallax free model (Aimpoint & the like).

got an aimpoint 5000, as pictured above, pretty much like new.....needing a home. and a couple bsa 50mm red dots also. The BSA red dots have issues with parallax,....but are on target if you favor one side more than the other when looking thru them. The aimpoints are tough as nails, waterproof and the batteries last about forever.

I have Tasco PP3's. One on my 10 Gauge. They don't brake and don't brake the bank a $99 either. I have been using them since the late 80's when they were about the only red dots around and winning competitions.

Ive got 3 aimpoints the 9000sc camo on my shotgun, micro h1 on a S&W 617 22 & a 7000 as shown on a 17 hmr.

Make sure you try the micro before you buy it. It has a very small objective and is hard at times to find the dot. I have also tried the Burris fastfire. Very good sight. I returned the one I had because I use all my guns at night and the burris didn't have any adjustment for intensity.
