I need some red filter material for a few flashlights. Anybody know of any place online to order some? Having a hard time locating some as i dont know what its actually called. All i haver found is lens caps online and i only need about a 12x12 sheet of the material to make my own cutouts.

Use Krylon X-Metals,it sprays on a nice clear red color and you can do about 200 flashlights with one can......

I've used red cellophane sold in the craft/sewing area of Walmart. The nice things about it are:
1-AFFORDABLE, $3 gets you a lifetime supply.
2-ADAPTABLE, not red enough? Add another layer.
3-REMOVABLE, Too red? Remove a layer.
4-AVAILABLE, Walmarts are everywhere.
5-FLEXIBLE, Adapts to any shape surface.

That being said, go with a white light and keep it dim. You'll use less battery, be able to see more clearly, enjoy better contrast, judge distance better, and know what you're shooting at.

Most music stores carry the red gel sheets. Great stuff, made to handle a good bit of heat since it is designed to go over band lighting.

+1 any brand of "anodized" spray paint works well.
