I have never had an issue setting up a sizing die with a standard shell holder. I have both factory and custom chambered barrels. Not all brands of die have the same setup instructions, Redding die instructions are for MAXIMUM sizing(minimum SAAMI). I have one RCBS 223 die that sizes to my ammo checker dimensions(minimum SAAMI) without cam over. So even die of the same brand can vary greatly dimensionally following SUGGESTED instructions, especially considering only a few (0.008-0.010) thousandth of an inch can be the difference between NOT chambering and over working brass and having case head separation or failure to fire.
