RedField scope quality and fit?

Just wondering what some of you all thought of them? I just got back from a local fun shop and looked through the 3-9 by 50 with the Accu range plex and man I must tell I was impressed with the clarity I held it up against a leupold Vx2 3-9 by 50 and it seemed about the same clarity for about half the cost. I heard they have a shorter tube making them hard to mount I would be putting this on my R-15 and I have a Burris P.e.p.r mount would it fit? Just wondering what you all thought of this scope for $200 and if its a gtg purchase. thnxs for the input.

I think they have the same tube as a VX-I, and it would be fine in your pepr.

I have a 4-12x with accurange, and I am impressed. I had it out side by side with a Mark AR 4-12x, which is more than double the price, and the Redfield was way clearer. I was shooting at a steel coyote silhouette out to 500 yards. I highly recommend.

I have the 3X9 accuplex on a RRA one piece mount and it fits fine. Love the circle when following a trotting coyote. My opinion is it as good a value as the Nikons that my friends use. I just won't have a Nikon because they are affiliated with the criminals at Buttmasters. Also, you can see that is one mounted on my Tikka in my profile pic there to the side.

Pretty standard dimensions. Don't see you having any problems mounting them on anything. At least I haven't noticed them being hard to mount.

Guess I ain't up to speed. What's this about?

To Corndogg, you should not have any problems with a Burris mount/Redfield combo.

I have not had my Redfield 3-9x50 for very long but so far so good. The scope will fit the Burris PEPR just fine, however it barely fits in the RRA mount.
If you decide to get one, you might want to pick up some lens covers..scopecoat or something.

Yea...buttmasters

The NEW Redfields IMHO arent as good as the older ones...BUT...for the price you can get a Redfield for now...they aint bad at all. Very good buy for the $$.

Take a look on E-bay sometime and search for Redfield rifle scopes. The ones from the 70's must be made of gold for the prices they are going for nowadays.

Ive got a new 4-12 Revolution on my 243 Remington. Im very satisfied with it

I picked one up a few months ago, a 3-9X40 with the standard 4 Plex.

Mounted it on a 30-30AI Contender and I was impressed! Shot the box and clicks were repeatable.

For the price, I don't think you can beat it for a "General Purpose" scope. This one will be in the tree on the first day of the upcoming season.

A question for you guys using the Accu-Range Reticule... Are you finding it to be "Too Busy"???

I have a couple of the FFII's with the Ballistic plex, but in low light, the hash marks almost impossible for these old eyes.

A while back I got a letter from a legal firm saying they were assigned to my "case" in collecting an unpaid bill from me. I called the # and low and behold it was b masters. So I called b masters. They told me I had aggreed to some crazy "membership". Well, I never had a previous conversation with them or signed anything. Nothing. I was living in Pike Co. IL at the time and have bigger deer on my wall than Jacky. I am the last one to need his "club". It did get resolved, but I wasted about an hour on the phone and popped a couple blood vessels in my forehead. This happened to one other friend of mine as well. They must be hard up for business to try these tactics. I will never do business with anyone that does business with them.. Oh, oh, you should have heard the punk at b masters getting cocky with me about this. I still get mad thinking about. I better stop

I must think they are OK, since I have them on eight rifles....
And, yeah, the PEPR is good to go....

Ohhhhh, buttmasters = Buckmasters. That didn't even dawn on me until you said something about *Jacky*. LOL

I still don't get it. Nikon and Buckmasters are in bed with each other somehow, someway? Ain't Nikon just one of the many advertisers/sponsors of the show?

I also own the Redfield 4-12 with the accu-range retical and have learned to love the retical. I though it may be a little busy but have found it to work great on the 300 to 400 Yrd shots. The 300 and 400 Yrd setting are right on for my 22-250 with the round that I use.

I've got 2 3-9s, I wouldn't hesitate to add a third, fourth etc as new rifles come in. Its on par or better than my vxi. I wish they made a 24x though, need a new varmint scope.

I have a 3x9x40 accu-range and a 3x9x40 regular plex Redfield. I much prefer the regular plex but then again, a 400 yard shot down here would be extremely rare. I do think they are nice and clear and allow me to shoot late into the evening. I however up to this point had only used $50 scopes so my impression may be different than others. I would also take a look at the "new" redesigned Prostaff's. The thing I like about them most is they made them finger adjustable and the clicks are positive when adjusting the scope. Both of my Redfields are a bit mushy and quiet which makes me unsure sometimes if I've put in my intended adjustments. Also the new Nikon has a focus control that is fast to operate. Just be aware these features are on the New Prostaff's. The stores are still loaded with the older versions although they can be had at big discounts.

Some of those reticles are FARRRR too busy for me to even see what Im aiming at...but their "standard" duplex fits me to a T...
