reference sticky for optimal dvr for thermal scopes?

Just finished some surfing here using my google foo and thought it would be great to have a "reference" thread with a sticky to answer what has to be a very common question:

What camera are you guys using to video your hunts through your thermal?

I have the model from ultimate night vision. It is really small. In my post about the hd38s you can see how it recorded. It was dangling off the thermal as I was filming and it was the first time I was out with the equipment and really had no idea how to work either one.
 
My pal who has a thermal called FLIR about a recorder and they actually told him the one that Ultimate night vision sells was the preferred one for their units of all things, not some $400 recorder of all things.
 
There is also a few other units coming to market that are going to exceed both units talked about here at a great price in the next few months.

Number one on the Ultimate Night Vision unit for thermal, easy to set up and work in the dark....it's the one I have and the trigger switch is awesome.....highly recommend
 
Yeh I got mine from ultimate night vision the other day. Wow that thing is awesome for the money. I looked at the one from spi and it def looks like it's built like a tank, however it doesn't record audio and I personaly feel like my videos would be halfway naked without audio.
