Release Agent for JB Weld.

What do those of you who bed using JB Weld use for a release agent? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Last spring, I used JB Weld partially for bedding a synthetic stock. I used some release agent that I had left in an Acra-glas kit. I am going to want to bed an All-Weather Ruger 77/22 I just ordered using JB Weld but don't have any more of the Acra-glas agent.....

Thanks!

I use Acra-Release in the spray can from Brownells. One can will last a long time. I've heard and read others using Pam cooking spray with good results but haven't tried it myself. Good luck. RR

I have a can of Johnson Paste wax. It has done a lot of rifles and you can hardly tell it has been used. a little on the finger tips and it will spread all over the metal. The gun comes out with a pop and clean up is with a paper towel. I throw away the acraglas release agent. Probably have a few bottles out there somewhere. Will send them if you want, but if you try the Paste wax, you will never go back. Randy

Somewhere along the line, I had seen something about using car wax but I wasn't sure if I remembered correctly..... Now you all confirm it! Get an accurate rifle and a "hard shell shine" all at the same time! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif Next stop: Autozone! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Thanks for the quick replies!

I second the johnson paste wax ,i just bedded two guns and both pulled very easily.

Get some hobby clay to fill in any little spots that might "hook" the action.

I pull with jb after 6 hrs, thats just me though.ME
