Anyone using it for 223? I can get at least 1 8 pounder maybe 2 for a song. Is it worth getting or not?

Does anybody have any good starting loads for it? I will probably use 55 grain V-max pills.

It works fine with the 55gr also just not the optimum for top velocity that is available. The Sierra Manual shows it as an accuracy load in a couple of bullet weights.

I use Re 7 In my .223. Try 21.0 to 23.5g In the 55 grain area. I've had excellent results. Refer to a good reloading manual first. My loads may not be OK for your firearm.

I use RL7 for the 40 grain pills in 223. I also use it(a bunch) for my 45-70. Try it, you will like it. If you do not buy it then pass the deal along. Tom.

There are many powders that shoot well in 223's, RL-7 being one of them.
Benchmark, H-4895, TAC, IMR-4198, H-335, H-322, and RL-7 are good.
Testing in your rifle will establish which is best for you.

get it...... it works well... in 223

in my opinion RL7 works best with 40 gr bullets...
next best with 50 and 52-55 gr bullets....

I like to load other powders for heavier than 55 gr bullets in 223's

RL7 makes a super load with 40 gr bullets in 222 also.....

got some great velocity 3500+ out of my 222 with 22.0 RL7 & 40 vmaxes in the 222...... ( & accuracy)
