Iam relaoding some 223 and have some hodgdon h4196 will this powder work with hornady v-max 55 grain bullet. The container say it will work with 40 gr nos.bt

I in all my years have never loaded any H-4196. IDK?

It is very similar to H-4198, but 2 fps slower.

It is very similar to H-4198, but 2 fps slower.
