Ive never had an issue with a bad primer. However ive had three 7 1/2’s in the last two months that were duds. Normal indentation. Im considering using BR-4. Any issues with bad primers

This concerns me…were they new purchase 7.5s? Remington changing hands has me wondering about quality. I have never had a primer not go bang…

I have had a few primers over the years that did not flash but not enough to concern me and I cannot even remember now when the last one was or what brand.

so just for note - remington primers is now owned by The Kinetic Group (CSG), same folks who own federal, speer, fiocchi and CCI - just to name a few noteables.

they're still being made at the same facility, on the same equipment with the same formula's.

so the only thing thats really changed is the name on the upper managements letterhead and business cards.

do with that info what you will.

Firearms are tools, tools wear, occasionally break and can be neglected to the point failure. Intermittent symptoms are letting you know something has changed, when it breaks that's the easy find. I have a couple TC dimension rifles, extra barrels and a bolt. All are interchangeable. One firing pin/spring assembly will occasionally have a ftf in cold (below zero) temps. I've cleaned and changed lubes on it. I've inspected and compared it to the others/ checked pin protrusion. Everything seems gtg, only thing I can't really test is the spring rates. Before I realized it is "something" with one pin/spring I to thought I was having primer issues(450's) once I switched primers and had it occur again is when I started focusing on what is next in the ignition process. Pretty easy to slowly, carefully remove the primer and seat in a known (unsized) empty case and see if the primer pops.
