Remington 700 CDL?

Could someone tell me what the difference between the 700 CDL and the 700 BDL is? I love my BDL's and am looking to get my son one for his birthday. I seen the CDL on Remington's website and just wanting to know what others think of it.

Thanks

Don't have one, but the CDL is a matte metal finish, satin finish stock 700 with no open sites, and a black end on the forearm. I think the stock is cut a bit different than the BDL/ADL's too - more like the Mt. Rifle I believe. My opinion is it is the gun Remington should have built all along. I personally think that the gloss 700's looked like a disco ball - definitely from that era! Let's not even get started about the 1960's/70's Weatherby's!! LOL!!! Heat shieids up!

I have one of the 700 CDL Ltds 17 FireBalls.

I've owned dozens of BDLs going back to when they first came out. The CDL is a major improvement.

The only thing is... that new squishy recoil pad is out of place on a 17 FireBall /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

They are a positive step up.

Hey Sandhillshunter:
The BDL has a hooded ramp front sight, and an adjustable rear sight. A 3 or 5 box magazine. It is available in popular standard calibers from .17Rem to .300RUM

The CDL has no iron sights. has a 4 round box magazine (3) in the Magnums. Is available in about 11 calibers from .243 to the .300 Ultra Mag. Has a fully adjustable trigger. Is drilled and tapped for scope. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Remington has added some new ones. One is the CDL SF Limited .17 Remington Fireball.

My friend has the CDL in .243 Boone and Crocket and it shoots great. If you don't know this model has the fluted barrel also in a matte finish. The barrel may be slightly thicker but when they flute it they remove any excess weight. It also has an adjustable trigger that feels very nice.

Thanks for the info. I have more BDL's then a person should, I just like the rifle. I kinda like the high gloss in the BDL's and the 7600's I have, but understand some don't. I haven't really paid much attention to Remington for a few years and didn't know about the CDL. Hopefully, Cabela's will have one for us to take a look at this weekend.

Anybody out there have an CDL in 25-06? If so, how's it's accuracy?

The "C" in CDL refers to "clasic" meaning the stock is of classic configuration--straight comb, low cheek piece, round forearm and ,generally ,no white line spacers. The BDL has a raised monte carlo stock. The satin stock finishof the CDL is also reminiscent (sp?) of the oiled finishes on a lot of classic rifles. I agree that it's a nice looking, functional design. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. My son has his eye on one in .30-06.
