Remington 700 Trigger recall

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, to late in the day for me to read everyones comments, but after being in a number of gun stores and seeing they have sent back the Remingtons I wonder how many sales this has cost the retailers. Normally when your car gets recalled they pay for a rental (loss of use) and the dealership gets paid for the warranty work. This case it looks like the gun store has their money tied up in inventory that they can not sell and is not even in their possesion. Great they are taking care of the problem but that don't pay the rent.

Most that are loyal to the brand and want the Remington will wait for them to come back. (Which they are starting to show back up again here already) Sure, its a lost sale on that day but they will come back when the rifle is available. I'm sure it hurts but a good store makes up for the lost sale by having other items on the shelf.

Those that went into the shop looking for a rifle and are not brand loyal (which is probably a huge majority of people) will be sold something before they leave the store. No lost sale there.
 
Just a quick follow-up ... I did get my rifle back today and everything looks fine. The trigger is smooth, but it's a little heavy. They probably set it back to factory specs, but that will be quickly adjusted. Ben
 
I received my rifle back in about two weeks. Remington took care of everything and paid the freight. As a customer I can't ask for more than that. Mine was new in box so no loss. I bet most of us here have a spare rifle or two to get us by.!!! Just think if General Motors (and others) would follow suit and fix their cars in this manner. I have no complaints. Thanks Remington for standing behind your product, as all companies should if it's on them.
 
I have a rifle that fell under the recall. They sent me a box, I sent the rifle to them they received it 5/19/2014 and I got it back 6/11/2014. It actually came a day sooner but I wasn't home to sign for it.

The repair didn't cost me anything, they paid the freight both ways. I wasn't wild about the trigger before and my feelings haven't really changed when I messed with it yesterday. But it is a factory trigger so I don't expect much. As far as the recall goes I don't think I have a whole lot to complain about. I thought they took care of things in a very timely manner after they received the rifle.

No... different trigger - a few of them had too much glue on the adjusting screws
 
I had one for the recall. I originally sent the repair request in, but decided to cancel and put a Timney trigger into the gun. Remington sent me a box. I placed the trigger in the box and left a note for them to keep the trigger. I was already contemplating changing the trigger before the recall. This just made me put my idea into action.
