remington 700 vssf value

What would you guys pay for an older style vssf that is unfired in 22-250. It has the pre palm swell HS stock. I have a chance to buy one and am not sure of a value. It is as new.

Worthless. I'll take it off your hands for free though. Just send it to me. lol

Try looking for the same model on gunbrokers.com

The guy wants a grand for it, I just want your opinions on if it is worth a grand. Thanks Schmidty all the ones like this one on GB are fired though. I really dont need it but I have a hard time passing up the older VSSF's and Sendero's.

SShooterZ put it into perspective. The VSSF is a nice rifle, I wanted to buy one about 1.5 years ago.

Is it really unfired? I'd think unfired would bring a bit more, but I see them all the time going for $800.

Jack, you must get out more often. A stainless 700 action for $300.00? I'll take 2 please, one long and one short. I also think a $1000 might be alittle on the high side even though its unfired. $800 ish would be good, $750 even better. All boils down to how bad he wants to sell and you want to buy.

A new VSSF-II runs around $1100-$1200 around here. I would start at $800 on the older VSSF. If you really like it and it is unfired maybe $1000, it is your choice and money. These guns are real tack drivers and worth the money in my opionion.----Riflemann

Last year I looked at the VSSF II. Bud's was selling them for $1060 so figure $1100 as Riflemann says.

I'd rather have a brand new one for $1100 vs one that claims to have not been shot for $1000.

Then I have to ask what's different on the older gun?

I have owned three. I really liked the old stock better. The first one could shoot 3/8" with your eyes closed, the second shot 5/8" best and last one is currently getting rebuilt. Thank God I accidently got it new from Cabela's for $800 (long story). I liked the pre Pro-Mark triggers better as well. I would ask to shoot it for $1000. It might be worth the money but I personally wouldn't gamble on it unless it was one of the first ones they made many moons ago.

Sounds kinda high but... I do like that old stock better though. It's value is in what it is worth to you. I have had several and all of them shot very nice. Let us know!
