Remington 760's were the .223 versions good guns?

I am considering a short range coyote gun in .223. I was looking at the remington 2007 products and noticed a 7600 .223 ranch model and a 7615 camo model. I dislike semi- autos. Nothing against you guys who prefer them. I am just more of a pump kinda guy. Anybody else know about the older 760's and/or have interest in these new guns? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif
 
I have a 760 in 300 savage and it is an outstanding gun. I have killed a bunch of deer with it. Don't think you will get sub MOA from them, but that doesn't sound like what you are looking for. It will handle nice and shoot Min. of Coyote. I say go for it.
 
New York City Police Department used the Remington 760 .223 as sniper rifles right alongside their Remington M700 bolt guns in .308 caliber. The Remington pump gun is so good I honestly don't why, or how, Remington bothers with the semi-auto rifle. I'd prefer the .243, but wouldn't argue too terribly hard against the .223. I think either caliber in this pump gun is a great choice for a calling rifle.
 
I always wanted a 760 in 223, but they want a mint for one now, so when the 7615 came out I bought one, neat lil rifle and shoots better than expected. its a 9 twist so the heavy's will shoot decent in it, think I'll let my daughter hunt with it in deer season.

The older ones are considered collectors items as there weren't too many of them made - 222's also. The new ones are, I think, WAY overpriced compared to the same gun in other calibers. I'm waiting till they come down in price, and I'll get one too. The AR mag concept and the ghost ring site (made by Wilson, which may be some of the cost problem, are great concepts, I think.

Here in PA, I think the 760 could be called the State Gun if there was such a title - everybody has to own at least one Gameblaster! My 1st 30-06 does about 3/4" 3-shot groups at 100yds. w/ Varget and Sierra or Speer 165 SPBT's. Similar groups from the rest of my family's 760's too.
