I am guessing it is about making money.
Remington for a time was loading swift bullets in some of their offerings and labeling them as swifts.
Probably made offers to some companies to buy some determined X amount of bullets from the companies with a green tip or whatever specs at such and such price. It would be a way to get a product in a manner less expensive than re-tooling one of their current facilities to make it themselves.
The bullet manufacturer was presented an opportunity to make some profit they may not have had a chance at otherwise, and had the time and capability to do it at so said OK.
Both companies have an opportunity to make out a little better than if they didn't do it... In this case Rem stands more risk than the bullet maker because they have to hope that they sell at the price they want, or at least high enough to cover costs.
But most of us would probably prefer that they call a spade a spade rather than go with the "can 'em and confuse 'em" method,
For probably the majority here it don't matter as they load their own anyway.
