Remington aftermarket stocks--a question...

I'm looking at buying a short action Remington Model 7 and I'm wondering if aftermarket 700 stocks will fit it. Any help or advice is much appreciated!

Thanks.

Just about everyone has stocks for the Rem's. Check with the major producers, McMillan, HS Precision, and so on.

Depending on the maker of the stock, most of the wood or fiberglass stocks can be inlet specific to your barreled action. But if it's something like the HS that use a pre-fab bedding block would take a little more work, more likely it would take a mill and machine skill to do it right.

You'll need a stock for a M7. or you'll be using a lot of epoxy to fill the gaps! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

To answer your question, no, the Model 7 does not fit in a Model 700 stock - they are different.

However, I believe that HS Precision still makes a stock for the Model 7 action.
