Remington Ghost Trail camera. Piece of crap??

I just bought a Remington Ghost 5.0 MP trail camera for $99.99 @ Dick's Sporting Goods. It was kind of an impulse buy and according to all the features listed on the box, it sounded like a great buy. However, when I got it home I searched it out on the web looking for reviews and every one that I read said that it was junk. Some even said that there was a trojan horse virus installed on the sd card and cd rom!! The most recent review for it was back in September and I was wondering if anyone here had read or heard anything else about them lately. Also if you see this camera or any camera and are thinking about buying, be sure to research it first! Unless I find newer info stating that the issues with this particular camera have been resolved I am definitely taking it back!!

I'm extremely hesitant to take anything on the internet as "gospel".... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif.... Unless there is, either some independent sources that I feel reasonably sure of or I personally know the person making the statements and trust their judgement...

I don't even take very many "reviews" of products in various magazines as really valid, as I've known too many writers that are more interested in their future stories than the one they are actually supposed to be reporting....

Were I in your shoes, I'd give the camera a good test and if issues exist, I'd try to get them resolved with the company of manufacture before assuming that the internet is the reality...

I have one of the less expensive Savage .204s and took some ribbing from some of my buddies over their CZs, Remingtons, etc. when the .204s first started being retailed....But as long as I don't overheat the barrel, it will out shoot theirs any day of the week.... with them behind the trigger... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I had neve heard of that camera till the other day. I was checking out a place called Liquidation Outlet, they get factory over-runs and stuff of that nature. My wife spotted those Remmy cams for $50.00, I took a look at it but thought, nah, better not, never heard of it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Best of luck to you with it though. Can't say I've been too excited about my Bushnell Trail Cam. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif
