Remote protection

Do any of you cover the screen of your remotes with some type of clear film for protection? Seems like my TX500 already got some light scratches across the screen from its 1st outing today. Thought something like you see placed over the ipods or iphones might be enough to keep it from getting overly scratched. I'd rather nip this in the butt before it's to late.

Unloaded, thanks for your suggestion. I think that I'm going to put some clear film over just the display screen & swap it out as needed. I want to be able to have good access to all the buttons so that it's still easy to operate with gloves on. I just figured that over time the screen may become scratched enough to make it hard to see & read. Wanting to avoid it, is all.

Nobody I knows puts equipment through the tests that Snowcamoman does, and he uses the Neoprene cover from Boondock Outdoors real successfully.

Look for camcorder screen protector film at Radio Shack. I use it on my western rivers remote, blackberry, video cam, etc...

I just got through putting the clear protection film on my TX500. My wife actually had some laying around leftover from installing on her ipad & iphone. All I did was cut it to fit over the screen and peeled the paper off the one side & stuck it on the remote. Seems like it will work alright & now I don't have to worry about it getting all scratched up over time.
