Rifle basix triggers

Has anyone tried these triggers,I`m looking to put one on my son`s deer rifle since he don`t want a jewel br. trigger like I use. I`ve seen them on Midway`s web site and they sell for 124 dollars and are adjustable from 8oz up to 1.5 pound.

I have had a couple RB triggers. Normally they install pretty easy and are of good quality. The last install however, is still giving problems. When set at three pounds, it will still fire if you close the bolt too hard. It is on a Savage 16.

I had one on a Ruger M77. It worked decent when it was adjusted. If you get the sear engagment off, then it will fire when the bolt closes. To make sure that will not happen, you need to make your trigger a bit heavier (like 3-4lbs or so) which might be just the ticket for a younger shooter. They do install easy and, the one I had, was totally adjustable. There was no way in heck it would go down to the 14oz or so advertised, but it did get it down to 1.8lbs with a little work. They are probably quite different for every gun. The one for my Ruger was just a sear to compliment an already adjustable factory trigger and it was only $30 or so.

Rifle Basix triggers are very good. I have several of them, and with each one, the break is as good as it gets.
I'll buy more of them too.

They make a very good trigger. the guys having problems with them going off when the bolt is jammed need to adjust their sear contact correctly

Actually RB inc. is going to send another sear positioning spring. Contrary to popular belief, I know a thing or two about sear engagement.

I have 1 RB for my gf's .223ai. It's nice trigger, but isn't a Jewell which I prefer. The thing I hate most about this RB trigger, if you put the Rife on "safe" you can't open the bolt up on the rifle. Kind of a pain. Only thing I don't care for. I have her trigger adjusted to about 8-10oz. Breaks crisp and clean after some tweeking.

I still prefer a Jewell to my finger.

Just had one (Basix) put on in my son's Ruger M77 30-06 and the trigger pull is set down to about 1.2 lbs. Talk about sweet, smooth and solid. I was pleasantly surprised after having put up with that stock Ruger 8 lbs trigger pull that was probably the worse I've ever felt in any rifle.

I've used several Rifle basics and Timney triggers all were very good but I think you need 3 or 4 pounds on a hunting gun
Benchrest are ok with 1.5 lbs or less

I use the RB triggers and have had no issues with them at all. Why does a person feel like they need a 3-4 pound trigger on a hunting rifle? My 06', that I hunt deer with breaks at around a pound. If you know its light, whats the problem? Like they have said, RB's aren't Jewels, but they work good for the $$.
