working on first ar 15 build. looking for smooth or slotted or knulled free float handguard in FDE color. Any suggestions?
pics would be great

I really like my Midwest Industries gen II SS handguard but the FDE doesn't match my Magpul and other FDE as well as I'd like.

if you're looking for a slimmer one - dont overlook the UTG Super Slim series. stupid easy to install, index nicely on the upper, and pair up with standard flat-top rails nicely.

i've got one on my carbine 223/556 upper, one on my blackout pistol, and on my LR308 as well. I like how they fit my hand nicely, and they're machined nicely so there's no real hangup points for gloves in the cold weather, and no spots to rip into your hands when you're not wearing gloves. I'm seeing them showing up on a lot of builders choices at the local gun shows and such. THey have keymod versions available too if thats your thing.

I have a gen 2 SS from MI and 3 gen 3 MLOK from them also. The gen3 uses a barrel nut that doesn't need to be timed for your gas tube. The torque plate keeps the handguard from rotating. It is by far their best offering yet.

Any idea on release time or any info on the new tube from them? Possible I.D. size? I need one to cover a JP low pro adjustable.936 gas block. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on a handguard. At the moment I'm thinking the Seekins MCSR is gonna be the one, but may wait to see what BTE has in store.

George hasn't mentioned a date to me. I should see him later this week if my schedule allows it.
