I'm busy doing house repairs this AM and Ritch goes out to finish sighting in his BOP smoke pole for deer there in Utah. Of course man doesn't live by black powder alone so he took his 2017 Coyote Campaign gun. 16" 6X6.8 with some beat up old muffler on the end.

He was testing a load that was suggested by Nick a few weeks ago that we have been trying to shoot with H322. Not one that I use much but one that appears adequate for the task at hand. What say you?

Five shots, 58 VMAX, 100 yards. 0.238 CTC at 3370 from a 16" barrel. Brass was old school old stock SSA and has probably 15-20 loadings and has not been annealed.

Looks great, mine were not quite that tiny but I'm not going to challenge Ritch to a match anytime soon so im not surprised either. Lol.

thank you

The front rest is a Farley. The bags are made by Edgewood. The bench was made by me, from an old solid core door. The legs are made from 1 1/2" ridged conduit.

That's why God invented hack saws and brass screws.

Don't give me ideas

Well I might have to play with h322 have some. I went out and shot 55g nosler and h335 wasn't super happy with that load I found with that this summer. But I shot the 58g vmax again and wow they shoot. They actually shoot tighter at 200 then 100yards. These were over 8208 and getting 3400 plus out of my surpressed 22" barrel.

He was using 450's and the 25X6.8 has been doing very well. One fellow has really worked it hard.

The price of the lost velocity could be a bit steep. Personally I just couldn't abide hobbling a true high velocity 22 cartridge with a short barrel. Better a bigger expansion ratio to push the same same weights faster than give it up.

Oh I wouldn't build a short .22 cal. Seems like little loss in the 6x6.8 though. Keep in mind 200 yards around here is like a mile out west. It would be primarily shot with a Trail xp50 atop it.
Before I go crazy I will see how my std. BHW 22" 6x6.8 carries.......if I ever get it back

Ritch doesn't give up much on that tube for sure.

As for your 6X6.8 I lit a candle for you.
