Rock Chucks

Hello all,

I've been lusting to get into some rock chuck hunting here in western Wyoming, but I am having a little trouble locating information on where the best place is to find the little buggers. I am assuming that I should try to concentrate on rocky areas, but I may be totally off base here. Also, do I need to get into some elevation, like treeline, or could I find them around 6000 feet?

Anything pointing me in the right direction would certainly get me farther than I am now!

Thanks a bunch!

Welcome to the board. What part of Wyoming are you from? I used to live in Greybull. Let me know where you are and I might have some advice, I usually found them in the mountains.

I don't know much about that area. It looks like you could head up Bradley Mountain or Elk Mountain and look around. It is a little higher. They do like the rocks. Take some binoculars to spot them before they spot you.

Lots of rocks-----
Riparian areas with grasses around them are the best! When you find the right areas, you can often find foxes and bobcats there too!!!!!!!!!
