Hello to all, new to this site. I just put a barska scope on my rock river 223. At 25yrd 30 rds makes a quarter size hole. 100yrds cant hit a 2'x2' target. With the iron sites 2" group at 100 (Im sure the rifle can out shoot me). Any thoughts? Im thinking the scope may not be worth a poop.

Check your mounts for tightness.I never have really heard much good about Barskas. I'm sure someone will come on and say they are right up there with Nightforce.

I would have to call BS on them for a statement like that(100 bucks for a 36x60 spot scope and a 6-24x42). The mounts are tight, the scope is rock solid on the rifle.

I have not heard anyone who likes Barskas. I would try a different scope, my Rock shoots great. (Try a Luepold Mark AR or a Nikon of your choice, just stay away from the M-223 scope, POS)

i had a barska scope and it was JUNK. never could get it sighted in any better than spraying a pie plate unconsistantly. always hit the plate but never could punch tight patterns. threw it in trash and got bushnell dusk and dawn 4x16 and it sighted in fast and got three shots at 200 in a pattern that a quarter could cover. the bushnell was like 120 bucks i think. pretty good price for a good scope imo

get a bigger paper at 100 or bore sight it better then start adjusting maybe try increments of 10yrds till you get on the paper at 100

I was thinkin it is JUNK. Im goin to take it back. thanks for the info. Iv got a 2-7x32 Nikon prostaff i was going to put on a shotgun, i may try it on this rra

+1

If your on at 25yd your gonna be overshooting your target at 100

the groups at 100 are unknown. cant find them on a sheet of plywood with a 2x2 target. With my gustaf i can do 1.5" at 400. so im sure its got to be the scope

Barskas come with some pretty cheap Aluminum rings, I have changed them for steel rings, & use blue Locktite on all the screws. Made a big difference.

+1 on switching to the Nikon. You will get it sighted in and will probably love it. A 2-7 is a great scope for a calling rifle if you intend to use it for that. Good luck.

honestly im a firm believer that you get what you pay for. put the barska on a rimfire rifle and invest in a decent scope. wait for the old tax return to come in?????????

Depending of course on how high your scope is mounted above the bore and your load...as mentioned above if you are zeroed at 25yds you will be well high at 100.

What ammor are you using, is it good ammo. If everything else is good, then get a new scope. I have a barska on my 10/22, the poi changes 2" at 50 yards consistently. It could be the rifle, it could be the shooter, I think the scope is a junker.

My friend bought one for a 270, we sighted it in with about 10 shots and it did alright. He was wanting to go coyote hunting with me so we called it good. We made a couple stands and he had it held up and the glass had fell almost completly out of the scope,it was not dropped or hit on anything so I think u need a new scope!

mid line of the scope is 1.580 off the top of the flat top. I just swaped out the barska for the nikon. Im fixin to put the barska on my .17 and go to the range in an hour or so to see what the deal is. With any small amount of luck all will be good. Im shootin the American eagle 55gr, fed 55gr and 62gr, tried the 64gr American eagle but there was no difference.

Did you try it at 50 yards after the 25 yard zero? going from 25 to 100 yards could be your problem. Might be off the paper. I'd try 50 and get it dead on then try 100.
