Rossi- rebuild- help?

Help, I've had the misfortune of purchasing a Rossi single shot, 23" heavy barrel,1-9 twist. six months ago, and have been working on it since, I've floated the barrel, steel plated the inside bottom of the composite forend, glass bedded it, and mounted my bipod to that, instead of the factory welded pin on the end of the barrel, I did float that pin w- rubber hose. Anyway, my 3-shot group improved greatly, 1" @100yds,w-40gr v-max,h-335,2,840fps, compared to 5-6", depending upon barrel placement on bench rest. Now I've done the trigger job, as per gbo-H&R,NEF, and that is where I was wondering if you guys could help me out? I have the hammer, springs and barrel lifter and parts in place, and put received back together w-the splined pins. Once I put trigger together in the guard and pined it back to the receiver, I got very little movement out of the trigger, "HELP" does anyone have access to exploded trigger diagrams?, other than gbo,h&r or NEF, Rossi's owners manual is no help, maybe an actual Rossi trigger build? Thanks guys, hope I didn't waste time, just thought I would ask before I threw in the forge and made horseshoes out of it!

Can't help you but I had 2 of them for the kids and did not spend as much time on them as you have but I can tell you that the horse shoes would be a lot better. I sent both of them down the road for a 17hmr for the kids to use on bunnies. It was the best thing that I have done. Those things kicked like a mule.

Sit down and take a deep breath. I know you're frustrated and nothing works quite right when you're frustrated. It's easy to miss simple steps, overlook simple things. And once you overlook them once your mind tends to gloss over them and make it even harder to find the 2nd and subsequent times. Just like when you misplace your keys and find them in the exact same you looked 100 times. Fortunately we're here to help.

Thanks for the reply, that is funny, oh well, I got a little down time, arm surgery, rehabilitation, I'll play w-the gun a little while longer,- while I got your attention- I'm going to get another gun, I've been looking at the .223 bolt action ruger American rifle 22" barrel or the savage 10xp 22" barrel, both under $500. I've been leaning towards the ruger, cause of the bed block system, floated barrel, I don't know much about the savage, what do think?, thanks

The transfer bar timing on the NEF/ Rossi's is critical. If you take too much off you will bave a fun time getting it back in time. Check the little flat piece that goes next to the trigger for your movement issue. A piece of dowl rod makes putting the trigger assembly back in a lot easier.

1" is stellar for that gun. I had the same gun and with a 40gr v max hand load it shot 1" good enough for a cheap gun out to 250yds.

Nef handi rifle with a tasco pro point red dot makes a good cheap kids gun. My kids have killed about a dozen deer with this set up in 223 with 55 grn ballistic tips.

Thank-you guys for you help on my Rossi single shot trigger assembly, I lost my patience and ended taking to the gunsmith, and ended buying a savage model 11 trophy hunter in a .243 cal, Man I love it!, sub moa right out of the box, 80gr corlockt factory ammo, I'll work up 85gr Barn's tsx's later, the composite stock is a little cheesy but other than that it's a shooter.
