i threw some apples on my corn last week and it looks like they are attracting bugs and rotting!
will deer still eat these apples? or will they stay away when it smells rotten?

you can see where the deer been biting chunks out at a time but it looks like old bite marks

I would take a rake or stick and flip them off your corn, never had deer eat the apples once they get to the stage.

cool i will do that,
im planning on sitting there from 6am til around 10 am and when i go to leave i'll flick em off lol!

probably wont be back there until this weekend! its supposed to get into the low 80s!

ok went out today and sat for about an hour and a half no deer, thier also cutting lumber about 300 yards away so who knows whats nervous out there,

flicked off the old apples and realized the corn is getting mold underneath! will deer eat moldy corn?

also i kicked up a coyote in the creek on the way down lol

Are you using whole kernel or cracked corn. The whole kernel has a better shelf life so to speak. As far as the logging goes if it's been going on for a while the deer will become more comfortable with it. I've seen deer out in the fields around here when the farmer is bailing hay a100 yds away. In farm country the sounds of machinery is what they grow up with. Good luck

You should get one of those deer mineral blocks. Break it up into a powder, clear off a 3 ft. area to dirt and dump it there with deer in the area. Within a couple months it will be a foot deep and 3 ft. wide and full of deer tracks. Just wash your hammer off or the salt will rust it bad.
