RRA Predator Pursuit 16" or 20"

I decided to go rra predator pursuit over stag model 6. Now I can't decide if I should go 16" or 20 ". I don't think the extra lb on the 20 should be a issue (I'm used to humping a 240 bravo). What is your input?

I had a 20" RRA P.P. and really liked it and it was not that heavy. I would go with the 20" just to get the end of the barrel 4" farther away from your ears.

I had a 20 inch PP. Great rifle, but a little long for me personally. If I were to get another one I would look at the 16 inch barrel. Like you said there won't be much weight difference between the 16 and 20 inch barrels, but I prefer shorter lengths just for the compact factor..

I would prefer an 18" myself but they don't make an 18" PP, so I went with the 20". It's a real shooter! I carry a Rem VTR with an 18" barrel in the brushy areas, it doesn't get hung up in the brush as much. Open area with 300yd shots I take the 20" RRA PP along.

16" is my go to on AR-15's.

As for the 20" is easier on the ears comments, NEVER fire a rifle without EAR PRO! With the new electronic muffs on the market there is no excuse for not using it! The excuse of a longer barrel is easier on the ears is false, Every shot without ear pro can damage your hearing Even 22lr!

I think people get bored with a rifle that shoots too well. I know the "trouble makers" in my safe get shot more that the tack-drivers. Gotta keep tuning them till they shoot well you know. No reason to shoot them anymore once they shoot well lol.

Quote: Is there a reason everyone "had" one instead of "have" one?...I think there can be several reasons, some already stated, why it's a "Had" rather than "Have" situation...

Most of my normal hunting is in pretty dense foliage areas where a 150 yard shot would be the exception rather than the norm..For me a 16" barrel carbine is much more maneuverable than a 20"...The sound factor in a non-point since I almost always have electronic hearing protection on...I have enough hearing loss as it is...

When I was on the 3-Gun and Action Competition circuit, a 20" was just excessive barrel to swing, as most shots were fairly close range (less than 150 yards) with an occasional 200+yd (rare) thrown in to separate the men from the boys...When you are running between barrels and shooting pop up or hidden targets as you advance, a longer barrel is a definite disadvantage...
