RRA scope mount help.

I am about to pull the trigger on a predator pursuit 20". I will be getting a Leupold VX-R 2-7x33. I would like run the RRA mount but I don't know if it's to tall for this scope. If it isn't to tall, which do I use, the cantilevered or standard mount? This is my first AR so I don't know where my cheek weld will be. Since everyone here seems to be so knowledgeable, I hope you can provide guidance. If it matters I'll be using it for general shooting and chasing yotes.

Cheers all!

The RRA cant.mount is about 1-5/8" to center of scope from top of rail.I have one on a R15 with a 3-9x50 and it lines up perfect for me with a good cheek weld.I started out with standard mounts but due to the long eye relief on this scope I had to go with the cant. There is a ton of adjustment with these and I think I have seen them mounted 180 degrees to use with a shorter eye relief.Hope this helps.r

I do not move my AR scopes forward. I set them like my bolt rifles. For me it is normal.

You only need your nose up to your latch when you shoot iron sights. Shoot a 450 Bushmaster and you will have blood on your latch.

Yes, I served 1967-1992. They took my M14 and gave me a CAR15. Worst day of my life. Three years ago, I bought my first AR. I own four of them, now. Nice toys???

I also go with the standard Rock River mount and mount the scope like any other rifle. Once a scope is on my gun it stays on that gun for life. Years ago I would start with cheaper scopes when I didn't have the funds with 3 young kids, and now I have upgraged all my scopes, and sold the old ones to others just starting out hunting on limited budgets.

I appreciate all the responses. My eye has been wandering toward the Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42 in addition to the VX-R. In either case they are close to the same eye relief, 4" +/-. It looks like with the cant mount you can adjust enough to get the proper eye relief between location on the rail and on the scope between the rings. Again I appreciate all the help. Seems the easiest part was picking out which AR I wanted. The glass and mounts are driving me crazy, trying to get the best combination for my needs.
