Rra upper forend disassembly question

Bought a predator pursuit upper , trying to remove forend. There's a lock ring on barrel nut to time forend. Is any of this locktighted? Any tricks to remove forend and lock nut or ring whatever it's called? Special tools needed? Right hand threaded?

Rock River usually uses blue locktite on the lock ring and the barrel nut. It can usually be loosened up pretty easy though. It'll just turn hard and you can't hand loosen it until it comes off.

Found a couple other articles. Put tube in lathe chuck wraped with Emory cloth fabric side in rotated real slow heating with heat gun . Tapped lock ring lose with aluminum square stock, put two drill bits in holes of barrel nut inserted bar and it screwed right off.

RRA does a fantastic job at the factory making sure the forearm's are secured. Red loctite on the threads and tiny lock rings make for some fun times.
Heat, oil, torque and patience all come in to play. The proper tools help also. On the last one I just resigned myself to purchasing a new lock nut.
I do not know the specifics of the RRA factory torque values for their forearms, but I do believe it is an asston.
