rubber eye piece on Ir-Hunter or Reap-ir Do you use it?

I put a amber filter on my IR Patrol and it has the rubber eye guard on it.

On my IR Hunter Mark3 I added the amber filter as well. I don't have a rubber eyepiece on it.

I wished somebody would make a shuttered eye guard piece that would fit over the filter cap.

The screen seems bigger without it. To use the rubber eye piece it seems you have to lift the scope 1/2'' or so then your head is at a weird angle.

I like the idea of raising the scope to get the hot suppressor out of the image but them it seems like its too tall.

Great question, i was wondering about the amber filter to replace the shuttered eye piece.

If anybody needs a new shuttered eyepiece,

If you don't use the rubber eyepiece or the amber filter with the rubber ring you are asking for a nasty bruise or cut from the edges on the PVS14 eyepiece used on the scope.

I ALWAYS use the shuttered rubber eyepiece to protect my eye and to eliminate light splash on my face. Without it you basically have a small flashlight shining on you and it will get you busted at close range.

It also protects my eye from blowback shooting suppressed AR weapons.

There are lots of choices out there if you want one without the shutter.......Just web search for "PVS14 eyepiece".

Gman is correct, the Triji Thermal Scopes use a PVS-14 EP and any rubber eye guard that fits the 14 will fit the Triji thermals. https://tnvc.com/shop/category/pvs-14-parts/page/2/

Me personally do not like the shutter, the ones I have I cut out the shutters, but some like em.
