Ruger 10/22 barrel/stock...which one?

There are tons of different barrels and stocks for the 10/22 out there, but which one is the best for the price? I don't want to spend more than $200, and i am looking at a carbon .920 barrel, synthetic black stock, and a bipod from Basspro for 180$. Any suggestions?

What exactly are you looking for? Is this going to a bench gun. One that you carry into the field? A really good carbon .920 barrel is going to tap out your budget. The Butler Creek "carbon fiber" barrels do not hold zero after heating up. Check out the rimfirecentral.com forum for more info on light weight barrel/stock combinations.

Personally, I happen to like my 10/22 Deluxe Sporter with a 20 inch fluted sporter barrel from Green Mountain. The barrel only adds two ounces to the package and is a superior barrel to the stock unit. Nothing like blue steel and walnut.

Check Hogue Auctions, yes the grip company, I bought a .920 blued bull barrel for $30 bucks. They have a stock and barrel (stainless I think) for $120. Shoots real well. Worth a look. Check Odds and ends...

I had the BC Carbon barrel on my rifle and it shot very well. I didn't like the rifle being barrel light and changed it to a Green Mountain 16 inch fluted SS . The stock is a BC . I replaced the trigger group with the Volquarten. The rifle shoots bug hole group at 30 yards and 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
