Ruger American 270?

From what I am reading about the Ruger American, most guys are happy with accuracy. I know they are not the best looking gun but they do the job. My dad is looking at one in 270. Any thoughts or feedback on this rifle in a 270? He would put a Leupold VX-II 3-9 on it. I would like to load 130 grain bullets for him to shoot targets and use for deer/antelope hunting.

I've sold two dozen or more American rifles this pst year. Almost half have been .270's. All of the feedback has been outstanding and reported accuracy is on a par with rifles that cost 3 times as much. The American Rifle is a great bargain, and in my opinion superior to the budget rifles offered by the other major manufacturers.

They are way more gun than you would expect for the money. The 270 is a legit tac driver. I have the 30-06 version and i am extremely impressed.

I have a good friend that has the American in 270 and he loves it, and it shoots very good. And I have a Ruger American in 22 250 and boy that thing shoots! I think they are the best deal out there.

What grain bullets you shooting in the .22-250? Does it have the 1-10" twist? I have heard mixed reviews on the twist rate, some say theirs is 1-14" and others are 1-10".
