I have a ruger 22 pistol that I need to send in for repair. Have any of you guys sent things in and if so what kind of turn around should I expect?

Thats a bit of a relief. I have to call myself an idiot tonight. Today I bought a mkiii 22/45. Got it home, played around with it a bit. Read the manual and field stripped it. Put it back together and did something wrong. This thing is locked up tight and I cant get it back apart. So, it gets to go on a road trip to ruger prior to even having been shot. Blood pressure is a bit elevated tonight.

You've got something assembled out of sequence. If you don't want to send it to Ruger, try these troubleshooting and assembly instructions.

It's easy to get one bound up, the position of the hammer and strut is critical and it's hard to see where they are when you're doing it.

If you send it to Ruger, and it has any after-market trigger parts installed, it will likely come back without them.

Just sayin.

The magazine has to be removed before you can unlatch the mainspring housing. Is that what's happening to you?

Sounds like you should be able to fix it yourself. Can you disassemble the gun again? If so look at the You-tube videos on re-assembly.

If he reassembled it, I could fix it. I'm not sure where he's at in Oregon. If he met me face to face I'd fix it for free in 10 minutes (I'm in Albany).

Nice!

I've been in that situation before. I bought my Mk. II without a manual and had a bad experience the first time I took it apart. That guide saved my bacon.
