Ruger m77 hawkeye predator 22-250

Whats everyone's opinion on it. I've got a savage model 10 predator max-1 camo in 22-250 but thinkin bout sellin it and gettin the ruger hawkeye predator 22-250, good idea or not?

My hunting partner has one in 204 and it shoots really well and it is a very nice gun. That being said I am partial to Savage rifles so I would keep the savage. If the HP 22-250 shoots anything like his 204, it think you will be happy with whatever you decide. Good luck!

I've read mixed reviews on it but I really like the look of the gun and the hawkeye action. Would like to hear more of people's opinions before I sell my savage though.

I have a hawkeye in 204 and love it shoots great i also have 5 ruger m77 markII they are all very accurate rifles. I would not hesitate to buy another one

I have the Ruger Hawkeye Predator in 22-250. It is one of the most accurate rifles I've ever had. I shoot a 40 grain VMax with a max load of Varget, and it's like a laser out to around 400 yards. I don't carry it a lot because it's a little on the heavy side for some of the walking that I do, and I'm not a big fan of the finish on the metal. But, given the way it shoots, it makes me forget about anything else.

The finish on my buddy's barrel seems to "stain" when it gets stuff on it. Not real sure how to explain it. Its got a bunch of black marks on it and not sure what it is.

I have one. It's a great shooter with a great trigger. I don't care for Ruger actions, as they are a little rough compared to 700's, but overall it's a great rifle, even in stock form.

I have a Hawkeye Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor that is a very fine rifle. Like was already said, it is a bit heavy to go tramping around with all day. But if I'm not walking long distances I always grab it first ahead of all the others. It shoots 1/2" easily with my handloads.

Not. Unless you just like the looks of the Ruger over the
Savage. You state in a later post the Savage is getting 1/2"
groups. It could probably do better than that. After quite a
bit of tinkering with loads, my VLP in .22-250 has gotten
sub-1/4" 5-shot groups, which will rival many a custom rifle.
But if you want the Ruger which may or may not (read "GAMBLE")
be MOA, it's your dime!

On another note, do you really want to trade off a twist of
1:12 for a 1:14?

I do have a Ruger American Predator in .204, but my Savages
are more accurate.
