I ordered one of these rifles in 22-250, and have been hearing bad things about them I was wondering what you all thought about them. I am also going to put a Leupold vxI 4-12x40 on it. Im hoping to kill many a coyote with this set up.

My MKII 22-250 is one of the most accurate rifles I've shot. There are 8 M77's in my family ranging from .223s to 300 Win Mag, all shoot under 1 MOA. Some well under.

I am thinking about buying one in either .22-250 or .204. I currently have the Stainless/Synthetic Hawkeye in .243 win. It will shoot 85 Barnes TSX into .6" groups at 100 yards consistantly. I am extremely happy with my Hawkeye and will probably end up with another one once i get the money.

My friend has a m77 in 22-250. we have no problem hitting pop cans or praire dogs at 300 yards. I don't think you will have any problem killing yotes with it.

I have one chambered in a .308 and I love it. Can't vouch for it's coyote effectiveness as I have never even shot at one... but deer, a dif story all together.

The M77 is a great rifle. I have one in......
.338 Win Mag
7mm WSM
.270 Win (Hawkeye)
22 Mag
.17 HMR

They all shoot great.

You won't have a problem hitting coyotes with one. The main complaint a lot of people have is that there are other guns out there (edge, stevens, xs7) that are just as accurate but are cheaper. They also aren't as pretty. With the ruger you are in part paying for cosmetics. A work of caustion, in the two I have had the torque on the front action screw has affected accuracy a lot. Both if it was over tightened or under tightened. If you remove it from the stock I would do so with a torque wrench.

One of my friends has a M77 in .243. Stainless, with the most beautiful wood stock that I have ever seen on a gun.

It is an older gun, probably 15 years old, and the only thing that I can see that is wrong with it is that the trigger is absolutely horrible, at least 10lb. pull. Even so, the gun shoots about 1.5" groups with factory ammo.

I've read lots of negative posts an different forums about Ruger rifles and I was never sure if some were made on a Monday or the posts were by someone working for Remington:).
I've had 3,77-22,77-22 Hornet and currently a MK 2 in .243.The .22 Hornet was lousy,The 77-.22 would shoot 1 hole groups off a bench at 16 yd.(sporter rifle league) and my .243 shoots 5/8 in. groups at 100 yd. but it is picky about ammo.

i have a new m77 in 243...shot it last week...very accurate...but the word in the past is... u either get a good 1 or a bad 1...but recently havent seen any that customers have complained about. maybe ruger has worked out the bugs...jim

I have a Stainless 204 and a compact in 243 for my daughter. Both rifles are Hawkeyes and are very accurate. Longest shot on a coyote with the 204 is just a little over 400 yards. I am very satisfied with my rifles.

Well I got mine in slapped that Leupold on it and she shoots like a dream, Im dying to see or call in a coyote so i can attempt to bust it, if i dont it will be my fault not the guns.
