Ruger m77 ultra light

I am new to this forum, but have been reading here for quite a while. I recently sent a Ruger m77 Ultra Light to ER Shaw in 223 to be re barreled with a 1 1/2 contour barrel in 223 AI. The new barrel length will be 22 in. I was planning to re stock it with a b&c carbalite stock only to realize they apparently don't offer it any longer. I would like to use a fiberglass stock on this build. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

HS Precision makes a heck of a good stock. They have stocks available in several styles for the Ruger M77 MkII.

I'd be curious on this as well. I have two ultralights, a 30-06 and a .223. I'd like to upgrade the stocks on them also, but the barrel is so skinny I'm not sure what they'd look look like in a standard sporter stock. The gap around the barrel would have to be huge.

I think a McMillan is the only way you'll get a good fit. I'm pretty sure HS only makes a stock for a M77 MKII long action. If it's in your budget and you can wait 6 mos, a McMillan would be a near perfect fit, light and very strong.

I'm unfamiliar with the ultralight, so my comments are made with the assumption that's a Mk II action.

It is a MKII short action with the three position safety. I guess I will have to find something and relieve material to make it work. The selection for Ruger's is very limited. Thanks for the input. I guess the challenges are what makes this interesting.
