what I was asking did the breech pug for the BH209 in the optima make that much difference. I shot the t7 powder and the sabots running a wet patch then a dry one and the groups were not as good in the optima as they were with the encore using BH209. I then tried BH209 in the optima, it was on at 25yds, the next shot did not hit paper at 70yds. I am new to using sabots, but have shot muzzle loaders for more than 45yrs. I have a tc hawken flint lock in 50cal that shoots round balls well, the maxi balls I cast not so well past 50yds. I know the flint lock has a 1-48 twist and is not good with maxi balls. the two encores I have with 1-28 twist will not shoot maxi ball, power belts, hornady fpb's good past fifty yds shooting t7 powder and t7 primers. the encore shoots 300gr sabots with BH209 and fedA primers good at 70yds. when the optima was erratic at 70yds with t7 powder I stwitch to BH209.

I am still waiting my BH209 breech for the optima, the optima's breech plug facing the powder is flat, the encore's is concave. that is why I asked if the BH209 breech plug for the optima will make that much difference.    spike
