I found a Sako Vixen in 222 Remington with an older Leupold scope on it for $900. It has a five digit serial number 83xxx looks to be hardly used, no scratches at all and the metal still looks really good like it has never been shot.

I feel like it is a great deal and will probably buy it, just was wondering what your thoughts were before I get it.

I will post a pic of it when I get it.

Run don't walk. It would be gone if I saw it, wouldn't stop to ask a question just long enough pull out the wallet.

I just paid more than that for the H&R round top version in 222 with out a scope! I would expect it to be gone if I took the time to ask about it.
Good Luck, Tuco

I got it, I'm so EXCITED. It is a really small gun shop too. Can't believe it. They said, some old guy came in a couple weeks ago and sold them a bunch of his old guns.

They had their gun smith adjust the trigger, because they said it was set at 11 oz and it would dry fire when you cycle the bolt, it is set at 2 3/4 now. Other than that everything looks flawless.

I have to pick it up tomorrow when I bring them my Military orders, since I'm a resident of Georgia and just stationed here in Virginia.

I just ordered 5 boxes of ammo from midway, they had 222 Remington in stock, just my lucky day.

I will get a pic on here tomorrow after I pick that little beauty up.

I'm a big fan of Sako's. I converted a L461 Vixen 222 Mag to 223 AI a few years ago and it's just the sweetest rifle I own. It takes a lot of rounds to shoot out a 222 so you probably have a pristine barrel.

You lucky dog!

Awesome rifle Got mine years and years ago... (1980 or so). Still shoots "teenie" little groups...lol

Only drawback is 1-12 twist rate. Mine likes BLC (2) and 45-55 grain spitzers or BTs, not real picky on bullet. Just doesn't like anything heavier than 55grs.

BTW, mine is just downright "purdy" to look at...
